Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was looking for information on the Guild Nightingale, since I own one. Mine is #44. The back of the headstock reads:
JL000044
MADE IN U.S.A.
I-88
I thought that this model was more common but I've read that only 82 were made. I bought mine in Barcelona (Spain) at the early nineties, not sure about the year. I remember that the shop had a catalog with the nightbirds and the nightingale as a variant on them. At that time you could see this model in the hands of Buddy Guy on an ad in Guitar Player magazine. I think it was a strings ad. Also, in an interview in the same mag Buddy Guy tells about B.B.King joking "so you got a small Lucile...". He also explains that this model was made for Eric Clapton who had #1 and that he had #2.
Mine is exactly as seen in http://nightbirdpages.home.comcast.net/proto2.htm except that the tuners in mine are Grover. Here go a couple photos:

Well, thats all by now. I'll take more pictures and post them another day.
