Morning, Hans. Gosh, I have no clue!

Is that a mahogany top? Also, what's the toggle for on the bass side, upper bout? I won't mention the lack of a TRC.. oh, wait...

I notice a blue solid-body peeking out from the seat cushions! I'm guessing that's what the flight case is for... But, that's not part of the game, right? Or, is it? :) :)

Happy 1-Apr, "fools" or not! :)

Is that a mahogany top?
Definitely looks like, but I would guess a laminated one. Looks extremely nice in natural hog.
Everything looks relatively modern, so my guess would be Nashville Custom shop. CE-100 shape, not sure if the depth is CE-100 size.
The pickup is a Gibson type pickup as it looks.

EDIT: On second look, is that a carved heel on the neck?

Here's how I see it....it seems to be a cobbled together guitar.....sort of a FrankenGuild.
I don't know what to call the sum of its parts and where they originally came from.
So.....my observations......just a list of things that I've noticed in no particular order,

The headstock, neck and its inlays looks like its from a post' 65 Artist Award or other high end model.
The humbucker is in the standard "up against the neck end" position but doesn't look like a Guild pickup.
The odd treble and volume knobs positioning, wiring harness and switches were added on later during the "reimagining".

The body looks 17" but does not look Guild to me.....more Gibson-like with the round lower bout.
....but the f-holes do not look Gibson.....they look more like Guild.
This part has me flummoxed!!
A Gibson body retopped with one from a Guild? (covering all the bases)

So I'm still supposing this was originally a non-cutaway acoustic archtop body by another manufacturer.
The Florentine style cutaway is atypical.... seems to have been added during the Franken-building process.
You can see the cutaway does not join flush up to the side of the heel. Its typical of some much older early cutaways but kind of homemade looking in this application.
If it wasn't for those f-holes I'd almost be guessing the body as an older Gibson L-7 non-cut with an added Florentine cutaway.
But darn those f-holes, they ruin everything.

Other things....There is no sign of a jack hole having been on the side of the body, just the one on the top.
Standard Guild harp tailpiece in chrome that would have been used on many other less fancy Guild models but not on an Artist Award.
Chrome Grover Rotomatics .....OK I guess.....but if this was really meant to line up as an upper end Guild the hardware would be gold.

Thats all I've got........Hans says its real and not an April Fools guitar.

I give up!
I'd best be making fresh coffee and getting back to playing altered scales on my bass clarinet.

The only all solid arch top Guild ever made : the all hog build was expected to have a smooth tone ment to avoid feed back as much as possible. However, since no other model was made, it may be that the result wasn't that convincing...
The Guild that I'd wish would exist (I've just described ;) )...

One of the knobs appears to be broken?

If this was a knock up, wouldn’t you just replace that with a new one?

And why the missing TRC? Does that have the model inscribed and has been removed on purpose?

Whew...X500 neck on a Starfire-silhouette, but X500 depth body? And it kind of looks like it could be an all-mahogany body....?

looking at the headstock on the couch, my only real question is, @hansmoust, are you playing your telecasters again? I don't believe the board members at LTG have authorized such activty, from our president.

Chazmo......I play jazz and free improv on clarinets and flute.
Never have played Klezmer, but I've listened to enough to know that the bass clarinet could sound amazing in that context.

But attention Hans!

What is this guitar? It's April 2nd......
Oh right.....it's not an April Fools guitar......but tell us what you know please!
