Riverside elementary, Austell Ga eighth grade. Mrs Smiths' class. We had just returned from assembly.
Mrs Smith could barely get it out that the President had been shot. Didn't find out he was dead till I got home.j

4th grade classroom, the principal came in and announced "President Kennedy has been shot." A few minutes later he came in and announced that the president had died. Then I remember watching TV on Sunday with my dad when Oswald was shot.

While I certainly don't claim to be an expert, I have been to Dealey Plaza many times and have stood on the grassy knoll, been in the school book building and stood at the x in the road, we've all seen the Zapruder film. I am also a shooter and have been all of my life. I will always maintain that there just ain't no way LHO made the shot that killed the president....no way. Without trying to sound barbaric, you just don't shoot something with a high powered rifle and have it whiplash right back at you....just simple physics. If you shoot a watermelon from the south, I can pretty much promise you it won't fall south when it's hit. I'll never buy the lone shooter story.

It will never be easy to watch, but as soon as someone explains to me how the fatal shot came from the rear of the car, I'll buy that Ozwalt killed him. Wtch the film again, if you can, as tell me how a shot from behind the car left President Kennedy's brains and part of his skull on the trunk of the car? Keep in mind that the official contention is that the fatal shot came from behind and above Kennedy, that's were the school book depository is located......behind and to the right, yet the presidents head is blown back!

Anybody who hunts will tell you you shoot as your target is on the way in, not the way out. Oswald would have fired as the motorcade approached, as opposed to heading away. 3 shots in 6 point something seconds? Two direct hits? On a bolt action rifle? Yeah right. Specter should be tried for treason or stupidity. Factually there were four shots. I guess the 4th was divine intervention. Let's not even mention the pristine bullet found at Parkland Hospital on a stretcher. Let's not confuse people with the facts. :x

Same age as griehund, senior in college, I was working in the pool room of the CCNY student center, my girlfriend (now my wife of 47 years) was visiting. A student came in and told us the news. Things all over campus pretty much ground to a halt. A few days (maybe a week) later there was a memorial concert in the student center auditorium, the only performer I remember was Phil Ochs, which pretty much makes sense as he was my favorite at the time. I also remember watching the Oswald killing live a few days after the assassination as I happened to be tuned into a news station.
Four or five years later I was at a scientific meeting in Dallas, which was only a few blocks from Dealey Plaza. I walked over there a few times, from what I could see a lot of the shrubbery had changed, and some street signs also compared to the Zapruder film and the sight lines looked different. I also remember the Texas Rangers on the beat with their Colt 1911s, the first police I had seen with semiautos, as compared to the usual .38/.357 revolvers.

100% agreement, West.
Plus the fact that Oswald was never charged with the murder of President Kennedy, infuses a detrimental factor, regarding that stagnated investigation.
Two days later, Ruby gunned Oswald down, making it simple to build a case against the "suspect", ie, "dead men tell no tales".

Or why they call them apartments, if they're all together? Or why you park on a driveway and drive on a parkway? Or why you can buy tobacco products at the front of the drugstore, but have to go all the way to the back to buy medication? Or.......why they call it a bra and it holds two things, but a PAIR of panties holds one? All food for thought :? .

I'd like to know why, since theres a 50/50 chance a child will put their shoe on the correct foot how come they always put it on the wrong foot 100% of the time :?
