Tony Policastro reviewed a Guild all solid (square-neck) resonator when he was working with Music Villa (possibly a R 37 s -if that's the name for solid- I seem to remember).
It did have a depth and power that made it really unique...Nothing comparable to laminated ones (from other makes including Gretsch and Gibson) I had heard...
(Price either had nothing much in common this being said)
Very cool guitar, sure looks pristine, congrats! I don’t have any experience with resonators, but last year or so I caught Taj Mahal in concert and he played a resonator, and it was a unique sound and I dug it.
edit, now I realize this is an 8 year old post lol
Yes I did : I'd been reading the topic about Canje0621's search for a Guild RS 30 S resonator and my searches got me here, where Ralf didn't have his answer about sonic value of all solid woods vs laminates on resonators. I couldn't copy the Tony's review's video URL though, for lack of the down hyphen on my computer's keyboard www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9-WMhyphenaoSvM . Maybe someone would be nice enough to do it ?
Once again, folks, this is an 8-year-old post. txbumper hasn't been around for a while.
