I'm not sure what is "limited" about this model other than it's only available in black or white. Why do I get the feeling that the Newark Street series is slowly being moved to Indonesia?

Limited I think is the push pull?

"However, the sleek ebony fingerboard and ivoroid binding around the body, neck, and headstock push this Guild’s style over the edge with a decidedly upscale flair."

Umm, pics, Sweetwater? Cuz I see none of that in the fiddle they showed, except the neck, obviously, and maybe around the side of the headstock.

Well, they have photos of the neck, fretboard (bound) and headstock. Since it's a solid body, I don't think you'll find any binding on the body. But you can see it on the neck and headstock. And if you put your cursor over the photos there's a zoom function. If you're on your phone, not sure how that would work.

Well, yea, the neck...that was just so duh in my head, I completely glossed over that. The headstock you can kinda see, but it may as well just be light reflection. Wish it was done more how Gibbo does it. And on the body? That would have been neat to see.

@The Guilds of Grot 's 1973 M85-II

Solid body, binding on the top.

I remember this because Sheryl Crow liked the tone of a M85 hollow body but didn't seem to know or care that there were M85's in both solid and hollow bodies and she ended up with the solid. The easiest way to tell the difference in pictures is to look at the binding. Both versions are bound on top but only the hollow version is bound on the bottom.

Okay maybe "solid body" shouldn't have been the category. Look at the shape of the body of the Polara. Edges are rounded and beveled. How would you even put binding on that thing? THAT'S what I meant. So how would you have stated it??

Those are two completely different models.

I have to agree with Tom, bad example since a beveled edge guitar was being discussed. If you wanted to post a photo of a Bass instead of a guitar, you should have posted this:

Although does shoot your bound solidbody argument in the foot!

Yeah there are plenty of bound solidbody Guilds, but on the rounded models I'd guess that it's just possible.

Just look at the Guild M80s - when they went to the rounded edges they lost the binding.

How about both on a solid body?, the sexy binding:

and beveled curves:

I like it :)

I am waiting for a store in Ireland to get restocked on the Polara. I assume it's going to be the new one with the push pull, which I don't want! I just want normal sh*t, volume up, volume down. :)

"Limited" may mean a Sweetwater exclusive so there is a hope that Polaras will be available without the pull pots.

The S-100 was around a bit!
The 2013 initial version was made at SPG in Korea, later production moved to WMI in Korea.
Now the "Deluxe" model is made at P.T. Samick in Indonesia as well as that "limited" run.
