I wonder what folks thoughts might be on getting a new vs an older Starfire IV. I had a dandy little red SF-4 around 1980 or so. It had the Guild tailpiece and a master volume. Great guitar that of course I should never have sold. Anyways, jump to today, I am thinking of either finding an old one to buy, or getting a new one. A new one would be cheaper, which is important, but do they have the "goods" like an older make..? I currently play a Heritage 535 for my 335 needs and also a lovely Guild Bluebird for all the Les Paul-is stuff, but I recall that the SF-4 was one of those perfect fit guitars.

I’ve had almost all if them and while the NS guitars are great for the money, the vintage Guilds are Just better. IMO YMMV etc.
