Hey yall, my OM 240E, has been faithful towards me but last week it stopped putting out sound through the speakers. I accidentally left it plugged in over dinner so I thought the battery would be the problem but I tried 4 new batteries, all different brands, and it still didn’t put out sound. Tried different cables and nothing helped. I’m pretty well versed on electric guitar stuff but acoustic electrics are a new area for me.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

I don't own a guitar with that pickup system, but I would make sure the connections to the preamp from the battery, output jack, and pickup are solid. Occasionally I see those GT-1 assemblies for sale on reverb for $20 or so. Could be a bad solder joint at the jack. Might be time to break out the multimeter, if you have one. The volume is all the way up on the thumbwheel, right?

Volume was one of the first things I checked. I’ve got a multimeter so I’ll try that. I looked at all the solder joints and they all look great. I’ve had messy soldering jobs before but that usually just results in sound cutting in and out. Here I’ve got nothin. I’ll get with the meter though

Dead battery ( multi 9v tongue test ?) lol Maybe pulled the connection / plug out a bit on control board for either UST or battery ? inspect input jack for damage ? I’m not sure what system it has ? So when the cord is plugged in the amp and you touch the cord end does it make noise ? Standby switch? Amp volume ? Annnnnd that’s all I got at the moment . 😂
I should add leaving it plugged in shouldn’t have hurt anything on its own I wouldn’t think it’s any different then playing a long set so to say . If the battery was old and died then something happened during replacement or it’s amp related . 🤔

Check the cable. I've had cables just give up on me like that.

Assuming OP is well versed with electric guitar stuff, as he claims, the cable would probably be teh first thing he checked. If not then he's not that "well versed"

I had an Epiphone Hummingbird that didn't like some of my cables and changing the cable would solve the issue. Don't assume it's not the patch cable to the amp
