I always though Marty wasn't particularly tall, but that mike stand is ridiculous.

Cool. Thanks.

In that PIC of Casady poppin' a top, the guy on the right looks like Will Scarlett the harp player, who played with Hot Tuna early on.
Good eye! That is indeed Will Scarlett performing with Tuna

Yeah, first time I saw it was almost like an optical illusion... I thought it was a normal mic stand and Marty was farther back, until I realized his hand resting on it! Then everything got weird o_O Appropriate for Crown of Creation era Airplane I suppose!

He performed on the first Hot Tuna album which was recorded at the New Orleans House in the SF East Bay in (if memory serves) about 1969. I attended that show. Was really cool seeing Jack and Jorma "up close" (in a "smaller than ballroom" venue). At that point, there was no opportunity to enjoy The Airplane in such a setting.

Yes! One of my favorite records. I thought i remembered reading it was recorded in 68 and released in 69? Either way, incredible that you were there! Were you anywhere near the fallung/breaking glass?!
