It has been a long time since I did anything this stupid. I was sanding down a sound hole feedback suppressor and when test fitting it I pressed to hard and………YUP…..CRACK………
I found a local musician, guitar player, who does repair work and had a number of images posted of his work, all very nice. I got hold of him and went to his house. What a great guy with a nice small shop in the front of his house. We talked for a long time and he said he could fix it when he got back from Nashville next week. His band was recording their new album there and they had some gigs lined up there.
True to his word he fixed it as soon as he got back and charged me the princely sum of $80. I gave him a C note.
It is not flawless but neither is the guitar so I’m very thrilled. He used Hide glue and made a special jig so he could clamp it with even pressure.
