In a fit of true anality, I was trying to figure out if Martin's website misused the word. I'm just not sure. What do you think?
When describing one of their Grand J models, they say the following (in http://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/gui ... 28lse.html) :
"This unique instrument is perfect for musicians looking to extend their creative palate and collection."
I would've said "creative palette," as if I were referring to the board artists use to mix paints etc. "Palate," as I understand it, is a sense of taste (as in the palate that is the roof of your mouth).
So, maybe it depends on how you interpret "extend the creative pa..." Are you growing your sense of taste (palate) to include the Grand J, or are you growing your arsenal of tools (palette) to be creative?
