How tall, or short, was Paul Simon? I don’t know much about him. I’m pretty sure that’s an F30, but it almost looks like a
jumbo on him. I don’t think he would be very comfortable with an F50R at all.

5’2 or 5’3 wow! That explains a lot. Art Garfunkel looked really tall standing next to him, I always thought he might be 6’ or so. But I just read Art Garfunkel was only 5’9, that’s my height. I know James Taylor was 6’3.

So now I’m wondering what model car he has on the hill behind him. I’m going to guess a dark blue 1966 Pontiac GTO.

I tried to Google Paul Simons cars, nothing. However I got his 1983 song “Cars are Cars”. That’s unbelievable. I always used to get aggravated writing lyrics because I thought they needed to be profound, or poetic, or some great epiphany. WOW check these lyrics out to Cars are Cars. I’ve thrown lots of those lyrics in the trash. Maybe it’s like the song by Survivor I used to sing in 80’s club scene, “It’s the Singer Not The Song”

Cars Are Cars

Cars are cars All over the world
Cars are cars All over the world
Similarly made, Similarly sold
In a motorcade, Abandoned when they’re old
Cars are cars All over the world
Cars are cars, All over the world

Engine in the front, Jack in the back
Wheels take the brunt, Pinion and a rack
Cars are cars, All over the world
Cars are cars, All over the world

But people are strangers, They change with the curve
From time zone to time zone, As we can observe
They shut down their borders, And think they’re immune
They stand on their differences, And shoot at the moon
But cars are cars, All over the world
Cars are cars All over the world

Drive ‘em on the left, Drive ‘em on the right
Susceptible to theft, In the middle of the night
Cars are cars All over the world
Cars are cars All over the world

I once had a car, That was more like a home
I lived in it, loved in it Polished its chrome
If some of my homes Had been more like my car
I probably wouldn’t have Traveled this far

Cars are cars All over the world
Cars are cars All over the world
Cars are cars All over the world

Heh. I did, however, always like the Barenaked Ladies lyric:
....
And if I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars
Well, I'd buy you a K-Car
A nice reliant automobile....

"Reliant" just fits so well with the flow of the lyric. "Reliable" doesn't come close!

That's half the joke

And, yeah, those PS lyrics are horrid. But if I wrote anything half as good as an 'average' Paul Simon song, I'd be doing pretty well.

It's probably just me, but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the photo is "I hope he checked himself for ticks."
Looks like rural CT, but does anybody know where that is?

Paul lived in New Canaan Connecticut with his wife Edie Brickell for decades; just sold the 4 acre property last year. Based on the loose rock walls behind him it could be any where in Fairfield County CT or Westchester County NY and without any landmarks there's no figuring it out.
As far as his height goes I seem to recall Art G sitting a wooden stool adjacent to Paul when on stage in most situations. I just saw an early 2000s S & G performance on YouTube where Art was out front singing and Paul was back and to the right of him playing guitar. Looked like they separated by about 10 feet. "When I'm weary, Feeling small."

Chesterfield's the give-away, although they did produce an F30R with an F50 neck for a few years starting '76 IIRC (about the year).

Only 17" jumbo body to get a chesterfield was the JF30 introduced in '87. ;)
