So, I'm browsing Ebay, last Sunday, and I see a New Hartford F-47R with no bids, starting price $1000, auction ending in 17 hours. I already have this model, but I think "why not enter a low bid"?...And the next thing you know...arriving Friday...

This is something that happened to me more than once in the glory days (late 90s/early 2000s) of Ebay. I once got a brand new Danelectro Convertible reissue for under $100. It was a sad ending though - I gave it to an ex during a breakup. A couple years ago I stumbled into it on Facebook Marketplace for six times what I paid. I was tempted to buy it, but realized that could get kinda weird.
