I'm sorry to say that it looks like it probably won't be long on this earth for one of my all-time heros Levon Helm. Seeing this makes me doubly glad that I've been able to make it to a few of his Rambles up in Woodstock. :(

Very sad indeed. I've always enjoyed his sound, his talent, and approach to his music. I never got around to ordering his most recent CD. Looks like I may be doing that soon.
EDIT:
Seems more time has passed since his excellent album, 'Dirt Farmer' than I knew.
Two more albums. Electric dirt, and Ramble at the Ryman. I've ordered both today.
Sounds like by the time they arrive, the listening will be bittersweet.
So good that you were able to see him Sandy.

Gosh, this is a blow, I am so very sorry. Levon has always been a big hero of mine. The music of The Band, as well as a lot of his later music, is simply Magical.

Sad news, indeed. Levon is an American musical treasure. He beat cancer once, so I guess these last years have been a bonus.
