Several things to consider.

1) This isn't the Willy Porter model. It's a CV-1C Contemporary series guitar. Very nice guitar, but NOT the Willy Porter signature guitar. The seller is misrepresenting it and that's a big red flag as far as I am concerned.

2) This guitar was not sold new, originally. It was sold through the MIRC reclamation center without an original warrantee. You will find that it has "USED" stamped on the back of the headstock.

Good luck. I think $700 is a good price for a CV-1C, but not necessarily a MIRC'd one. There is a strong likelihood you'd run into neck problems down the road which have been documented here on LTG since these guitars were dumped to MIRC back in the Tacoma era.

Greetings. A true Willy Porter model will have this label inside, no less than a $2k price today. It’s not the first to be passed off as one. Like Chazmo said, these contemporary models had a track record of neck joint issues. Also appears in your photo, there’s a “factory second“ serial number sticker on a standard Guild label which indicates an issue from the factory, but usually corrected at the factory though void of a warranty. Here’s what the Willy Porter Label Should look like;

Actually they were refurbed through a refurbishing specialty house, MIRC:

Also here’s a CV-2C a notch up from the CV-1C. Not a Willy Porter, however it’s already gone through a professional neck reset and looks to be in great condition. I’ve had this one in my watch list a few months. What’s great about these are the wider 1 3/4” nut. I’ve got two JF30s so can’t go wrong there either.
If your interested: make an crazy offer, it’s been listed for a year now

Slight mis-date on the header on that one too, s/b (I assume) '06 not '96, as the Contemporary Series didn't even exist in '96

Yeah, zooming in looks to be a Tacoma label where I think all these contemporary models were made. ‘96 would definitely have been a Westerly label, a couple of locations before this series.

Yeah -- $1,000 is a pretty good deal there!

This one looks nice, @Itamar4256 if you remain interested in a Contemporary series model. This one looks good and, while I can't be certain without a better look at the label, this one appears to be sold from Guild and not through MIRC.

Thanks for the pointer to it, @PreacherBob

Hello again.

If it came out not such a great deal then I prefer the JF30, I've heard a 98's few days ago, what a great solid wood-work guitar...

Also, I'm not looking for any neck adventures... :LOL:

JF-30s are typically very nice guitars, but be aware that they have a full 17" jumbo body with an arched back, which makes them even a bit larger!

I’m 5’9 155lbs I do prefer jumbos. I’ve got 5 Guild jumbos includes two 12 strings that I cycle between twice every week at the venue. Seated or standing it’s all the same. I’ve got three dreads I will play occasionally. Im pretty sure one can get used to any format. With being the main vocals as well, I tend to concentrate on singing and the rest just follows. You really come to appreciate jumbos should you get the JF30, very big sound. Workhorse of a guitar it is.
