Sad, indeed. As corny as they were, The Monkees were pretty special and pretty good role models. I loved to sing along with their tunes back in the day. RIP Davy...

The Monkees were big in their day.

What a shame. He was only 66.

Very sad. I enjoyed the Monkees too. Still have my sisters old albums. My daughter is quick to pick up on those songs as well. They still are very catchy tunes.
Still, Very suprised to hear this news. Seems I find all this kind of news here first

Very sad, makes me feel old... At one time, my favorite TV show. There's some good tunes there, too.

Shocked to hear this news. The Monkees was my favorite group as a kid, one of the 1st LPs I bought in my life. What's funny is that my daughter just discovered the Monkees a few months ago, and just loves their music, too.

RIP, much too soon...

I actually got to meet Davy a time or two on the racetrack, as he was a horse enthusiast and owner, and a good friend trained for him. One of my fondest memories of him was when my friend and incredibly talented photographer Barbara Livingston met him

You can't really tell from this pic, but she was absolutely beside herself here. Like many her age, she swooned regularly over him back in the day!

Gosh-darn it! Geez.....such fond memories of Davy Jones and the Monkees. Listening to Daydream Believer (1967) for the first time seems just like yesterday. RIP, Davy.

I remember Davy as being the "Paul" of the Monkees, the one the girls were all crazy over. RIP. Thanks for the music and memories.
The Monkees, Batman, Laugh In and the Man from Uncle were what we lived on in Junior High. Rumor has it Stephen Stills failed to make the group cause he had bad teeth and thinning hair.
