Gone at 75.

I remember that all the teenage girls in the neighbourhood , older sisters of my friends, had this record.

They also all swooned over the the handsome, blonde, blue-eyed, Norwegian, 20-something guy from down the block with his leathers and his 500 cc Matchless G80.

I coveted that bike.

Richard Thompson's UK-take on the same theme:

Somehow, I skipped over that whole girl group thing in the early '60s. The only girl group I liked at all was The Ronettes, and it was mostly because of Hal Blaine!

An excellent song !!!!
And an excellent motorcycle.

One of my father's friends was a very high-end lawyer. He was one of those people who could not sleep for more than there or four hours a night. He had to be busy all the time, doing something. Among many other things, he restored old cars and motorcycles and became a highly skilled machinist and metal worker/beater with his own lathes, milling machines, forge, and foundry in what had been the stables for his house. He could make parts for anything.

He had two Vincent Black Shadows, the lower performance brothers of the Black Lightening, restored to like new condition. He would attend Show and Shine events for cars and motorcycles.

At the motorcycle events, he often encountered people from a different sub-culture, people who were impressed with him and his work and his bikes. After chatting, some would ask for his business card. Some may have asked for help with parts for vintage bikes.

After a bit, a new clientele started to wander in through his firm's office doors, and the law office, which had been largely corporate and governmental, found itself with a growing criminal practice.

And while we are on the general theme of motorcycles, death, sex, music, and rebellious anti-social behaviour .... how could we forget?

And a Roger Corman B (B as in grade and as in biker) movie soundtrack tune from Davie Allen and the ever changing Arrows, one of the few tunes to chart for Allen:
