Thanks to the Guild gurus here who helped me identify a G75 I had. So... next story is I saw something I wanted, I sold my D50 and My G75 and bought this. A mid 90's Deco. My understanding is that there were 11 made. this is #2. The serial number doesn't show up on the Guild chart. It's a custom shop Guild... Where do you find a date for it? 1.JPG3.JPG2.JPG4.JPG

Love it when you find something and you have the "what's necessary to get it" and do. Just an awesome looking guitar.

Hello MarkAnthony,

That particular Guild Deco was completed during the year 1997.

Is this model a tricked out D55? I’m not that familiar with all the various models. That is a beautiful guitar. Very classy!

That's awesome--looks like a fantastic guitar. My one guitar from the late-'90s custom shop--a 45th Anniversary model--is mind-boggling in its quality, so your Deco must be spectacular indeed.

Exactly right!.. Custom shop tricked out D55.
I would not characterize this as a tricked out D55. I would certainly call it a tricked out Guild dreadnought, but it has too many distinguishing features to call it a D55 (headstock shape, Chesterfield, fretboard inlay shape, heel, etc.).

It is its own model, just as the D100 is (another heavily appointed dreadnought). I think of the 50th Anniversary and 70th Anniversary Guilds as tricked out D55s.

I also have a Deco (#3), and it is a spectacular guitar. Congrats.

Wow, that's a beauty...............Abalone every where on the front. Nice silky Stika sound board too! If it sounds as good as it looks it'll be fun to play. Best of luck with your new acquisition.
