In the span of a month, 0-2 on getting a guitar delivered from Ebay, two different reasons.
First got a good deal on a GAD M-120E with original case- seller shipped on a Saturday.... UPS emailed saying to expect it on Thursday... UPS then emailed saying it would arrive even earlier, on Tuesday, by 7 pm. 7 pm rolls around, 8 pm, 9 pm.... no guitar. A few days go by, UPS tracking says it's on the way, etc., a week goes by, now it says information not available. By this time of course I had contacted the seller and UPS, and went through the rigamarole of trying to start a claim, etc. A couple of weeks later, UPS admits the guitar has disappeared (in not so many words). Moral of the story- get the insurance. I was covered by Ebay and the seller I believe was reimbursed because they could prove the value of the guitar from the ebay sale.
And for my second attempt at a new-to-me GAD, this week I won an auction on a nice GAD-30. I messaged the seller a few times to get details on the guitar, and the seller seemed friendly, etc. So I opened the bidding at $350. A few days went by, and there weren't any other bids. The day before the auction closed, I noticed that the seller listed the guitar on Reverb for $500, which was what the Buy It Now price had been on Ebay. Anyway, the auction ended and no one else bid, so I thought I got a pretty good deal. But the seller cancelled the order as soon as the auction ended, and the guitar is still for sale on Reverb.
On the bright side, I don't really have room for more guitars...
