I've seen this ad in Vintage Guitar magazine many times before, and it's once again in the latest issue, so I'm guessing Mr. Shulman still hasn't found what he's looking for...

I wonder how much he's paid for the half-page b&w ad over the years? Enough to buy a replacement 60s T-100D, perhaps? His dedication and persistence is commendable, and yet completely understandable. He is, after all, trying to find his old Guild.

Cool Ad TF, great photo too. It raises some interesting questions for me. I wonder if he is a vintage guitar buyer, and this is his unique approach to marketing. Or, Does he really just want That particular guitar back for his own personal reasons (That's understandable too, to a sentimental fool like me). If vintage T-100D's were all he wanted, he could easily suround himself with such......But Finding That particular one.....Hard, but can be done.
I imagine if he were really after this Guild, He'd at least be a member here at LTG, and let us know of his search and the tale behind it. This place and the folks here could be a real asset to such a search. Makes sence to me.
Either way.............Good luck to him.

If you look at his email "bcm.edu" is the Baylor school of medicine, which means he's a doctor, and would have the $ to indulge an expensive search for his youth.

That's my take, take it as you will.

That's what you call being in love with your guitar! I wish him well, that is a really interesting way to try to find it again.

^^^ A personal, one of a kind connection with a loved and lost instrument.....and enough cash to launch a search to bring it back. Ok, That makes sence.
We should shoot him an email inviting him here to LTG. Maybe he just doesnt know we exist. Couldn't hurt, and wouldn't it be great if we could help him somehow.
TFace.....You up for drafting an invitation letter? You would be an excellent ambassitor.

It would take a small miracle for him to find it, but how great would that be if he does. :) TF, I would say you definitely increased his chances considerably, by posting that here on LTG.

Which shows again, LTG is amazing! At least one knows where it is now...So that means there might be some hope for Mr.Shulman to make a deal with the current owner.

No, that was not what I meant! One day earlier would have made it a 'bad' April Fool's joke!

Sincerely,

Just because he is employed by the Baylor School of Medicine does not necessarily make him a doctor. He could be the Grounds Keeper or the Head Maintenance Man, and maybe he is very thrifty. :D Whatever the story, I love it. Good for him. Such a noble cause; that sweet T-100D.

This fellow was here at LTG a few years ago looking for his long lost instrument. Appears that he wasn't taken very seriously, so he moved on.

"not being taken seriously" is not something I would want newcomers to say about their LTG experience so may I instead offer my interpretation that no one had any help or ideas and rather than say that, they just veered. I agree, though, that he didn't get much of a welcome or much help.
