Folks,

I thought about locking this but since my internet is going in and out because of another storm, I did not want to get caught in the middle of moderating and then lose access. But it seems to me that several people have forgotten to play nice or are reading things into posts that might not be intended. For example, in my face to face dealings anything that starts out with "With All Due Respect" is code for "I don't necessarily agree with you and I am prepared to argue that point, but it is nothing personal". Not saying that was what was intended here but...

To veer slightly, I have a co-worker who is still without power. He plays electric guitar, a shredder, I believe, and he was complaining because he was not able to play. Should I even suggest he look at an acoustic? Of course, the store I'd love to steer him to is also without power and it is being staffed just enough so that folks with repair work and July 4 gigs can get their instruments.

A planned wilderness vacation and spontaneous natural disasters and storms that devastate, cause injury and harm are not similar at all and comparing them is inappropriate. That's MY take. Also, stereotyping people from West Virginia when people are struggling to survive and recover, it may not be the best time to go for the laugh. Just sayin......
