^^^Now I'd like to try a shot of Rye. Your description has enticed me well and good.
Historical research....... here I come.
Rye is increasing in popularity these days. Good brands today (especially for the money) include Bulleit Rye, Sazerac (6-year), and Rittenhouse 100 proof. If you like the Manhattan cocktail (as I do), nothing beats one of those made with rye instead of bourbon. The heat and spice of the rye nicely contrasts with the sweet vermouth.
Oh Man Boris.... Now you're talkin. 8)
I've had a few Sazarac Cocktails at 'The Sazarac Bar' ( in the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, a great stop if you want something special to remember. 'Top shelf' the whole place.).
Loved them. I never knew Rye was involved in the alchemy of it all. I'm going to see if I can secure a bottle down here. I love my Peaty Islay Single malts.......But a solid dose of Rye might just find its place on my cupboard also.
I think 'my beard' has been craving it for some time now.
Thanks for the reccomendations.
