Hey folks,

It's not quite NGD for me yet, but I'm awaiting the arrival of my new '68 Guild Starfire V! When it gets here, I intend to put straplocks on it. I've heard that Dunlop Straploks don't fit through the endpin hole on a Guildsby, so they won't sit flush against the butt end of the guitar. Anyone here already tackled this issue?

I don't know about your Starfire specifically, but the only straplocks I've ever used are found or improvised things. Grolsch type beer bottle washers, rubber washers from hardware stores and ones I've punched out of various plastic and rubber. They work as well as anything and it's no big deal if you loose them. It's not that I'm too cheap to use real straplocks, I'm too lazy to look for ones that work right.

Yes. Exactly.

Fender etc straplocks won't work with the guildsby (or at least not easily). (We always called these grolsch washers "punk rock strap locks")

I've considered the DIY straplock option. I do have a set of those Ergo Strap Loks already. The black plastic ones that you twist over your strap and the endpin. However, that would require buying another strap, since the nice leather one I have already has straplocks on 'em. =)
