Thank you, sir(doubly). And, at least it's a Guitar toilet seat!adorshki said:HEY! That's gettin kinda personal! Ever wonder why I don't have an avatar for example? At least you look like some kind of recognizable mammal! :lol:MandoSquirrel said:valleyguy said:We cannot guarantee top performance of your instrument if strings other than Guild, or their equivalent, are used.
That's just a marketing ploy, personally I think the Guild strings do not bring out the top performance of ANY guitar..
This from a guy who looks like a toilet seat?!
Hey, Westy! Anouncing a winner already, eh? Which ones did qualify for the final and what's your thoughts about them?West R Lee said:Just a string update. The GHS Silk and Bronze lights were installed on the D30 last night.....I like them, like 'em a lot. I had been playing Thomastick Plectrums on it, another Silk and Steel string with an incredible feel, but at about $24/set, these GHS strings were about $7.00 as I recall. I chose the D30 for these as that guitar responds well to the silk and steel strings and these GHS strings have a bit brighter tone than the Plectrums and a great feel, at 1/3 the price.....we may have a winner.

After using Martin strings since the first Nixon Administration, I tried a set of DR Sunbeams on my D50 and after two months of use I've got them now on my D55.

What the difference between DR "Rare" and "Sunbeams"....do ya know Dad?

Yes. I really like GHS Bright Bronze. They are heavy lights .12-.54 and sound great my D25. I haven't tried a rosewood dread since I don't have one. I also tried them on a smaller OM (my old GAD30) but they seemed to max out the guitar and everything sounded muddy. On the D25, they were very bright and crisp at first but then mellowed to a rounder, fuller sound.
I think your problem was the coating not the string, just my .02. 80/20's are 'sposed to be brighter anyway though.bedell said:I am very picky about strings and after finding dead strings in every D'addario EXP set I was buying I switched to GHS Bright Bronze for my Guild F-47M. The GHS Bright Bronze 80/20's make a powerful combination on a maple guitar. Unfortunately, they are hard to find and I usually have to order them online.
