And the usual cautions apply. "more" and "most" are defined in terms of my anecdotal experience. At least once someone took strong enough exception to the picture I pained that they successfully challenged my assertions with something approaching statistics. Since I was wrong once, I could be wrong again :)
Although missing the "t" in painted, this is my new favorite disclaimer!! LMAO!! :encouragement:

Ralf, the mahogany version of the junior jumbo is what I ordered from Elderly. I hope if I hate it, they'll take it back....... but I expect to like it. :encouragement:

I like less bling, and I like the looks of satin finishes, so these look pretty good to me.

I would not mind a little more decoration on the headstock, but I don't much like the look of white binding on guitar necks.

If they sound like the Standard series, I will be happy.

If somebody mentioned the nut size in the thread, I missed it. If they are copies of the Standard series, they should have the 1 3/4 nut, right?

Among the Standard Series, I think only the F30 and F30R had a 1 3/4" nut. Can anyone else confirm this?

Tommy, I can't confirm this, but I do remember that the New Hartford F-30 Standard had a different neck/nut width than the Traditional.

I will confirm the difference although not the specific measurement. If I had to guess, the Traditional and a 1960-1970's F-30 should have the same nut width. It was something Mrs. Fro. was aware of but did not make a difference to her at the time :)

The 2011 F-30 Standard I had was 1 3/4". It went to Joe, and then on to another LTG member.

My '12 F-50 Standard is 1 11/16".

When we went through this before, perhaps when they were all new and in production, we realized that there was no blanket statement that was true about the nut width in the Standard and Traditional across all models. So it is almost to be expected that an F-30 and an F-50, both Standard, will have a different nut width :)

I like the 1 3/4 nut, it is what I had on the inexpensive Washburn I already had, and was kind of used to it. I thought all the Standard series had it. I was thinking that as time went on I would acquire the other models from the Standard series. But the lack of the 1 3/4 nut may make a difference, although I will have to get a lot better before being sure. I know some people are very particular about this, and others don't really care.

When I first saw it spec'd on Guilds it surprised me, but I found out later they even used it back on some early D40's for example, along with a flatter fretboard radius. Apparently this makes 'em more finger-picking friendly for bluegrass players, seen as a primary market at the time ('64) .
The spec seems to be gaining popularity again, it's also available on the MIC models in case they're of interest to you.
You just need to check the spec sheets on given models, and it's entirely possible they may make changes just to try to address demand.
Heck, a lot of us're even hoping that pretty soon (coupla years?) they'll even be able to build a "Special order" for you at Oxnard, especially for something easy like a wider nut.

The other spec that can be elusive is the string spacing at the bridge. My F30 and F30R Standards are 1/32" wider than the typical 2 1/8" bridge string spacing on the rest of my Westerly collection from the early 70's to mid 80's. Big deal I thought, but once I got them in hand, the difference was noticeable. Some of the newer "Westerly Collection" have an even wider 2 1/4" string spacing at the bridge.

Yep, and I've never seen 'em publish that anywhere (admittedly they may have started in NH or even Oxnard, I don't look at the catalogs too much online anymore)
But I know what you mean. I've got pretty small hands and I normally avoid a 1-3/4" nut but a couple years back a buddy brought over one of the new Larrivees with one, and it was more comfortable/playable than I expected thanks to a "narrow" string spacing at bridge. I coulda got used to it and even possibly preferred it for some stuff I do..
