It's been nearly 3 weeks since my surgery and things seem to be going well. I wanted to reach out to all of you who sent me good wishes, encouraging messages and more. It was a bit humbling. I've pretty much gone through life on my own and am ok with that. But it led me to believe I can do it all on my own but situations like this make me realize that's a lie. I had a couple close friends who have helped me a great deal and would have been lost without them. All of your best wishes and encouragement have helped as well so thank ya'll.

Yeah, when my wife had her hip replaced, she definitely needed me. One of the rare times, lol!

When one of us (all of us) is going through something, we always worry. Glad you've made it this far and your mind is focused ON THE HUNT!!! 
Like you, I've always been a fiercely independent person, and have always been proud of being able to take care of myself, both financially and psychologically. My divorce made me realize how important my friends are, and how disappointing family can be. My friends are by far the most important thing in my life for sure.

I will add that my girl is probably the best thing that ever happened to me (and no @richardp69, you can't have her!), and she has made my life immeasurably better.^^^ THIS RIGHT HERE!!! You sure got that right, my friend!!

Kind of a good time to have a major operation and be limited movement outside. By the time Spring comes you'll be getting around well.
My wife's many operations have worked out well because I pushed her on the PT. She has more movement in her knees now than she had before............I wish the same for you
