My semi-serious answer to your question, Rich, is the F-512 12-string acoustic guitar. Mostly because it's the reason I'm here. I suppose that's as good a reason as any to choose a favorite.
I’ve only personally played three models. A Hoboken F30, a D4, and two different GF30s. The GF30 gets my vote. Lots of positive comments on the tone of both the GF30s I have owned.
Maybe one of the Rich's will be able to tell I certainly haven't seen too many. Though I wonder how the Finesse would stack up... that's one I would like to try for sure.
Rich, that is a question without an answer. There are several categories of Guild guitars, and many types within each category to fill different needs and preferences. If you had asked which are the favorites within each category you might get some level of consensus, but then again maybe not with such a small sample.
I've already determined this. It is without a doubt, that guitar who's owner thinks his/hers is the greatest ever made. And all opinions are correct.
OK, I'll play.............someone said the D25.........as far as impact on the guitar world, and indoctrination into great acoustic guitars by a large number of folks, especially for the numbers built, the D25 might just has take the cake.
However the D55 is, and probably always will be the icon.
To me, my S-60. I own a 90's SG and a few Asian built Guild electrics, and I've played friend's LPs and Strats and I think my S-60 is the best of all of them. A simple, well made, great sounding, great looking axe that plays better than anything.
