Maybe it's an X-660 if that's a blonde finish. Or maybe it's just an experimental 3-pickup X-500/550?

I told the guy who posted about it on FB to contact Hans. Hopefully we’ll get a confirmation.

Looks like a 1953 X-550. Neck binding simply fell off over time I guess as you see on the distance between pickguard and neck.
Middle pickup was added to look like the X-350, the lower two knobs were added (probably not a factory job as they are not in line), the selector switch was removed and replaced with a master volume. Seems to be a very very old conversion.
It must have been a nightmare installing those two additional lower bout pots...

No! That's the correct control layout for an X-600/660. And for the record, the selector switch of an X-500 would have been mounted on a black plate and fastened with 3 small screws; no way you can replace that with a master volume control.

Thank you Hans for the explanation, I honestly had no recollection that there was indeed a X-600/X-660! It looked simply odd to me and I thought GGJaguar was joking about that model number! I also could not remember that we discussed a X-600 or X-660 ever here. I didn't have your book at hand when I replied, now I checked that there was indeed such model! I remembered that X-1770 picture with the 6 in line switch but had never seen such 6 knob X-model. And yes, if you talk about the switch, that makes total sense now that you explain it. No such 3 holes were visible.
I still think it is a nightmare installing those lower bout pots in there!

I didn't know this model existed, either. It's interesting to me that they didn't stay with the 350 switch arrangement.

It looks just like the X-350 finish that mine has. For some reason the brown top just looks odd to me.

I believe this predates the X-350. One of the early test models that didn’t survive.

Hey Hans, that is my x-660 Guild. I was wondering who posted it on facebook and also any information you may have on the guitar. I have it in the shop for repairs now. Thanks!
