Hey! Thats where I take my Guilds! I have to say, I wish they would get some Connecticut Guilds though. From my experience there, the luthiers there are top notch and do a great job! Not every employee there appreciates Guild guitars though. I have tried many a time to get someone to talk enthusiastically about Guilds with me and they always say the same thing: "You know, Guild guitars were crap in the late 70s and 80s before Fender practically saved the company in the 90's". However, its a great place and I will continue to support them! However, if you want someone in the covina area who is really appreciative of Guilds, I know a Luthier. Let me know if you want the info! He's good!

I've never been able to get in. You won't get to play the first time you sign up. There is always a rollover of names who didn't get to play the month before.
Good luck, though.

Are you the original owner of the JF-55?
Any problem with the warranty being honored?

No I'm not the original owner, but I'm third down the line. I'll see how good they are there, when I pick up my JF55 from them on thursday.

I've never done an open mic......maybe it's a sign!

Hi Again- I know I don't post often but when I do I usually have too much to say. I taught guitar (finger-picking) at the Fret House 1975-1977 while I was in college (Cal Poly Pomona) and loved it; they had a ton of Guilds, Martins, Taylors and Gurians. Tom Seymour owned and operated the store; he was a public school teacher back then and had several very colorful managers- John Gribble, Kelly Burns and John Taylor. The teachers also shared a lot technique and songs-it was a great time to be a guitarist. They had an open mike, even back then; I played at several of them- Leo Kottke stuff which was unusual back then. I have been out of Cal. for the past 32 years; but still remember so much about that place. I purchased my first guilds- a D-44M, F-212XLSB and F-412Bd from there. Thanks for the Time Step. Tom might even remember me as I was finishing up my teaching credential at the time and he was very helpful. Thanks for your time, Scott

Funny enough, the bone nut on my Epiphone beater cracked in half a couple of weeks ago. I was sitting at my desk and just heard a POP.

I look over and a chunk of bone is sitting on the floor!

How'd it happen?? Old age (the guitar, not you)? Playing too hard?

Ya, I guess probably due to both age and playing hard at times. 8) 8) 8)
