Thoughts on a Guild B4E?

Thanks to all for the help, advice, and answers.

The bass arrived at my local post office Saturday. When I started to unpack it I was a little disappointed, because the case was not as pristine as I had been led to think. However, when I opened it up and took out the instrument, I was amazed. I've seen new guitars hanging in stores that are in worse shape than this bass is.

The only problem was that I had no sound when I plugged it in to an amp. I e-mailed the seller and aske him if the elctronics worked. He replied, and I quote: It's probably the battery. I don't think it's been played plugged in for some years.

Does that mean he has left a battery in this pre-amp all that time? It was not easy to see, but there was, and when I pulled it out the terminals were green with corrosion! I managed to get them cleaned up, a new battery installed, and everything is fine.

I've contacted Fishman about a user's manual for the pre-amp. I had to send them a picture of the control panel so they could be sure they had the right one; I'm still waiting for a reply.

We're going to be out of town for the next several days, I'll try to get pictures up when we get back.

The PU is a Fishman Acoustic Matrix Pro. It has been discontinued for some time. I have a PDF that is a brief description of the Fishman PUs used by Guild and one that is instructions used by a luthier to install an Acoustic Matrix Pro. I'm pretty sure they came from the web but if you can't find them let me know via PM and I can send them to you.
