These were really cool. Honestly, going back to the "what's a good new model" thread, a mahogany full depth archtop would be cool and would be something fairly unique in the marketplace. Maybe even just a special version of the Franz X-175 in mahogany, otherwise identical (although I'd be a liar if I didn't admit an ebony board would get me excited).

One of my best friends has one of those, minus the Bigsby. It looks fantastic, but I can't play it. Pickups everywhere!

I have some in a Kustom guitar. They’re like nothing else, the RI Dynasonics without the adjustable pile piece assembly on the back found on the Dearmond guitar’s are nice too just more like a P90 than an actual Dearmond. Dearmonds I find to be very touch responsive, no wonder Chet Atkins was a big fan!

I sort of get the feeling the one on the right wants to be the one on the left ??

Beautiful! It's interesting that Guild used DeArmonds for a period of time, as Epiphone also did the same thing in the 50's.

Not sure if that was meant as sarcasm but Chet did not like the DeArmonds. He said that Duane Eddy was the only one that sounded good playing them. His insistence on something different resulted in the Gretsch Filter'tron pickup.

Not sarcastic at all. There were not many independent pickup makers.
