Hi,

Got above mentioned old lady couple of years ago as an exchange. Very warm an nice sounding little combo. I was almost selling it our, but after comparison to Vox AC15, I decided to keep it and get fixed. So I ended up to similar project descibed in this forum as "Guild Thunder 1 RVT : Fix-'Em-Up Part 1". The version of my amp is exactly the same (version 1).

The chipboard box was in terrible condition, but othervice the amp was working well. Caps have been changed quite recently in the past. Only problem was tremolo. You can adjust the speed, but not intensity. It will switch on an off, but when on, intensity pot does not do anything. There are quite subtle trem regardless pot setting. So I changed the pot, but that didnt help anything.

So I took the amp to local tech specialized to old tube amps. His comment was, that amp have been modified and therefore not been able to find problem without schematics or hours of work. So as an electrical engineer I found one schematic from net and also recognized, that circuit was not the same as described in schematics. But also found no signs of changes in the amp. Like in schematics there seems all three connections on intensity pot been connected, but only two were soldered in the cirquit an no signs of soldering in third. There were alson polarity switch in schematics, but not in the cirquit.

So some browsing here and I found out there beeing at least two different versions.

Are somebody able to help me with the (older) different version schematics ( other than can be downloaded from net)? It would be really nice to get this fine baby fully fixed.

Hi Varma, and welcome to the forum!

I have one of those, actually, but I am in the process of moving, so it is boxed up. Most tube guys don't deal with Guilds very often.

Thanks! Guilds seems to be not so common amps around. This is the only one I've seen live...

Yes - this schematic I have ant that doesn't match the circuit I have. By the way, my amp has serila no. 4368, if that does help anything.

No problem, if unboxing schematics will take time. These projects are not for guys in hurry. It's just great, if the amp can be fixed - sooner or later

I have a schematic at home. It may or may not be the same as the one in the link, but I will take a look, and get some photos, when I get home this evening. It's been a while since I have worked with my T1 RVT, but I think mine has a trim pot that adjusts the range of the intensity pot.

Yes, it seems to be the same I allready have.

In my amp the strength pot have 2 of 3 contacts soldered. No polarity switch in power section as couple of quickly visible differencies. But thank's for Your help anyway!
