This seller has some creative wording for this bridge:
shaved_bridge.jpg

The bridge has been shave forward of the bridge to provide better clearance for the strings - a standard procedure on old guitars (see picture). However, there is still room to lower the action further if you need to do so (you shouldn't need to do so for some years to come)

A bit of a dreamer, eh?

That's about what my D50 looked like (well, minus the notch cut into the forward part of thebridge) the last time I saw it in March; just about zero break angle. It's been in Nashville for a neck reset ever since. :(

I hope your D50 makes it back home soon, Sandy. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Personally, if I owned the guitar pictured, I'd have chosen the expense of a neck reset over destroying the original bridge, to gain string and saddle clearance. On a cheap import guitar sure, but a 1971 D50??

I sure hope so Nigel. When i talked to Thane last he said turnaround time was 90 days. That would have been the middle of June. Oh well, I guess they're backed up.

Agreed. That's some real hack work on a nice guitar.
