Watching a Petty concert on AXS TV that was filmed in Gainseville.. Just superb. I really loved this guy's music. I miss his material and music. He's been playing a couple different Ricks, a Strat and of course his Guild 12 string.

He's played all his famous stuff plus some covers and some Traveling Wilbury's material as well. Very enjoyable. Pretty long concert, like 2.5 hours or so. Of course that includes way too many commercials but a small price to pay to rekindle some great memories.

Don't know if it's the same show, but back when we had Palladia there a great Tom Petty concert on there.

I'd love to get ahold of all those Palladia concerts.

I've seen that concert film if it was the one that was shot at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I remember it was a long concert with some extended jamming. A really great show!

I saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers back in 1995 during the "Dogs With Wings Tour". He and the band sounded terrific and they played all the songs that I wanted to hear. Mike Campbell played his red Guild Thunderbird during the show and then engaged the "kickstand" and set it up onstage. It was amazing that no one knocked it over as they moved around the stage the rest of the night.

I had Damn the Torpedoes on vinyl. Wore that record out.

Wildflowers was brilliant.

I generally like Tom's music a lot and always have, but I must be the only person in the world that didn't like Wildflowers. It's too laid back, too much acoustic music. I also never liked that solo album he did with Jeff Lynn, the one with the rockets (or whatever they are) on the cover. That's mainly because I cannot stand Jeff Lynn's production techniques. The Heartbreakers were probably the best American rock band of the last forty years. They were amazing live. I wish they'd get back together and make their own music. They're too good to just disappear.

The Heartbreakers' final two albums don't get to me either. I thought they were trying too hard to sound like a 70's Southern rock band, and in doing so, had left behind that Rickenbacker/Fender sound that made them famous.
