I took a chance on this one...
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16930
It arrived yesterday and followed Dr. Spivey's advice
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17363&p=185911#p185911
Opened case today, success! No cracks, a few dings... Re-strung it, nice sound. It is now at the luthier's getting the bridge and nut re-glued. He said it looked in good shape, neck was straight, internal bracing was fine, not much saddle left but enough and at some point down the road will need a neck reset. Now to just wait to get her back. I'll post pics then.

Regards,

Congrats!!! No 12er sounds like a Guild....
Now just curious..... Why did you restring her before taking her to the luthier? Maybe you didn't cut the strings so he can re-install them?
Awaiting the pics.....

The strings that came on it were ancient. The luthier wanted it tuned to pitch so he could check it out for other problems.

Great! Hope it works out for you.
Selfishly, I had hoped to check it out on your behalf and maybe caress it a bit, but that's OK. Probably would have suffered a little GAS attack!

I was in Birch Bay on Saturday and wondering,
Joe

I hate to get all geographical on you, Steff, but there's one more bay in between. You'll have to cross Semiahmoo Bay, first. :D

South West??? You mean California??? thats not in Canada, but I hear it might be coming up for sale...you never know...If you're talkin' Vancouver area, then we're talkin' and there are a few Guild misfits in Washing state too. We might be talking LTG west coast here...... :D Let us know Jerry...Steffan

Sadly my wife will be with me so I won't be allowed to enjoy myself, and definitely won't be allowed to bring a guitar with me :( I meant SW Canada - Vancouver to Calgary and places in between, July 8 to 18  Have to tear myself away from LTG now and change some strings on a guitar :D
