I'll vote for a "Definitively Maybe"

As of people thinking that they can remember how something sounded yesterday vs tomorrow - not to speak decades - I've read some serious article about it not being true.

I'm too lazy to start searching for any links - but if I'd do it my searchwords would be "hearing memory"

I also had an experience with a Tone-Rite that seemed to significantly improve the sound generated by a new Adi-topped guitar.

And I was greatly disappointed when the tone of a guitar I had owned for several decades, was dramatically worse after a neck reset. Sadly, I set the instrument aside for a couple months, and finally re-visited it to decide if I had to sell that long-time friend (I was afraid it would never sound as good as it did before the neck reset).

But it was back to its former self! I'm guessing that the instrument needed some time for the glue to harden after the reset.

Geo, did you happen to use the Tone-Rite on the guitar with the reset?

Another method of opening up a top - set it on top of the washing machine.

"Kenmore Rumble" -- wasn't that an effects option on the Sears Silvertone amps?

You have no idea.

The Twin 12 was a monster.

The 50's amps are gems, mindblowing how good the tone is, but it's a pretty close cousin to Leo's Champ.

Bought this and bullet mike during the pandemic, the amp's got the tone, you could just give up all others and mike this for volume.

There's a local blues player around here that used to use an old Silvertone guitar/amp combo (guitar was a 1457 maybe??) and the sound/tone was amazing. I don't find this surprising at all. Nice find!
