And I'm sharing the response posted there for the community here.
Maybe get some different opinions??.I have a torrefied top guitar, but can't really say if it's a better sound.

Torrification I suspect, was developed to sell Adi top guitars to those that don't have patience to wait for them to develop. I don't have the hands on experience to judge, other than it makes guitars sound different. Then it becomes subjective. Rarely will you find a guitar in a store that is identical to the next except one has a cooked top.` So actual comparisons are hard to come by. Judged as a value added feature, it's usually added to high dollar guitars. Then those are marketed to the public. Cooking a top makes it sound different for sure. Better? You choose.

Torrefaction is actually a fairly old process. The major factors that I would think would effect guitar sound is that the wood becomes both stiffer and lighter due to the removal of volatile compounds - things that will ordinarily happen after many years. It's 'artifical aging' of the wood, but not quite the same as if you were actually playing the instrument for those years.

The downside is that the wood becomes more brittle.
