Let me check out the exact dimensions on the F-30 Std, F-47R and Orpheum 000 when I get home tonight.

The 000 is far wider than either the F-30 or F-47R at the upper bout. And the F-47R is far deeper than either the F-30 or 000.

They all sound different, too. The F-30 has that classic mahogany/sitka mid-range thing going on, while the F-47R is a rosewood/Adirondack beast that sounds more like a dreadnought than an F-body, suitable as a bluegrass instrument.

The 000 is, well, sublime. As if angels are just inside the sound hole, peaking out occasionally for a look around. Barely graze a string, and the top grabs the vibration and turns it into wonderful tone.

Ok now I am beating a dead horsey but I need to conclude this right but also left open for a future other model .

Ok so as most already know and to those who do not after all this going back and forth reading and questioning and playing what was available I finally ended up with what I thought would be a project guitar but not the case .

I bought a Guild CV-1 and have to say after having it now for about two weeks or so ? I'm not counting hahaha that I am still very impressed with the tone , volume and note separation of this little trouble maker so much so I am considering another model in the Contemporary line .

Heres a link to my mellow playing which is also on my NGD post . The first half is completely dry no EQ nor effects the second half I just added some reverb no EQ or other effects like compression or what not so basically as real as it gets less different recording gear quality . :)

https://soundcloud.com/agradeleous234/new-guild-cv-1-fine-lines Oh please excuse my silly intro ... I get like that when I don't think many will hear it LOL

Thanks to everyones great help and wisdom here for without them I would not have my 2 Guilds :)

Yes I will keep my Blueridge but I'm not stupid I just come across that way lmao .

Only triple O Blueridge I played because there very hard to find was a laminated version solid top . It was very impressive to me being a lam

I don't mean come across in a wrong light when I say this but after hearing the F30 F47 and the Orph , I have to say the Cv-1 has more the tone I'm looking for .

This might upset some but I found the Orph to be the least impressive of the bunch and to me that was a big let down.

But I'm a nobody and still learning in this world only thing I can say for sure is my ear has developed ten fold to what a good guitar should sound like .. To me that is .

I have with that development found certain things tone wise I hear and would like to change in my Blueridge . Maybe Guild can fill that desire but I'd have hear some like the D55 D50 or that Blue grass model .

I think after watching a vid by Mr Collens Collens guitars that using Adirondack bracing with the Adi tops tames the highs and loses that bell over tones I like .

That might be the reason I was scratching my head when playing the Adi top models you have/had after watching the vid it did make sense but all new info to me ;)

The only ears you need to please, is your own, that is, unless you have a recording contract.

I liked the one and only CO or CV I played, a few years back, so I wouldn't argue with your choice. I wouldn't mind finding another one to try, now that I have more guitars I play frequently, to see if it still holds up.

True that Brick but man I have picky ears lol

JohnW when you do I think it will . It is one loud guitar or should I say louder then I thought it would be . No boxy sound and very comfortable to play .

Like my Blueridge I just shake my head and smile when I get done playing it . Lovely over tones and sustain .

Hey, Ray, it's all good.

That's why Guild has produced so many models. There is something for everyone.

Here is what continues to amaze me. I will gravitate to a given guitar for a little while, then pick up one I haven't played in a while, and damn, it sounds just great. Right now that guitar is the F-47R, on which I wrote a tribute for Pearl Harbor Day that is fingerpicked, and it has just the right tone I am looking for.

I had the Huss and Dalton on the back porch this afternoon, just sitting and picking in the sunshine, and it is pretty hard to beat for flatpicked tunes.

The F-30 is great for couch-picking, when I want a smaller bodied guitar, and when I want to play some bottleneck blues.

The F-50 fits the bill when I write a tune that has a heavy, deep bass line that I want to feature in the song. It will rattle the windows in Drop D.

I love the Orf 12-fretter for the all-arounder it is. It can do it all, and if I had to sell all but one, it would probably be the one I picked to keep. Well except for the '73 D-35 I've had for 40 years...

I've owned a number of 000's/00's. I did love my F20 Guild...more of a 00. Not any bottom to speak of, but a very balanced sound with ease of play.

I purchased a Recording King in 2008......RO-26, that was a dead copy of the Martin EC000. Not the same guitar mind you, but the solid wood construction is excellent and electrified it is a very nice instrument. They no longer make this model, but I wouldn't be afraid of trying their higher end instrument in a 000 body.

I own Gibson LG2 and B25's from the early sixties....gorgeous sounds....all Gibson.

But overall, my Martin OM21 is the finest instrument I've ever owned. If you shop, I've seen them used from $1600 and up. This guitar has a sound unique to itself with amazing tone and sustain. I can't say enough about it. You just have to play one to understand. I use Martin "LIfespan SP's" MSP7100(12-54) strings.....well worth the extra price.

Neal having to chose which guitar to play must be rough lmao . You need to fill me in on the H&D tell me everything lol .

C70man , I played a good bit of Martins especially the O models but I can't prove the OM 21 was in the selection . I usually play them every trip to GC but with that said I don't dislike them but there not doing it for me ... yet ( subject to change )

I did prefer my Blueridge dread to the Martins I played go figure lol

Anyway I am very happy with my new Guild CV-1 can't beat the price and to me as I've stated its tone is spot on to my ears .

You can hear a sample few posts back . I also have some tunes I'm trying to get down that I will post soon with her . I always try to get a good take and it's always a battle to do , that and kicking my boy out the house so I can get quiet . ;)
