i am currently awaiting a guild F 250 deluxe . i bought this because i needed a great guitar to take to outdoor venues, and other places where i just dont feel comfortable taking expensive guitars. So, im wondering , .Does anyone know who manufactures the open back tuners on this model. they are stamped guild, but if there is a better tuner fir this guitar, i would happily repace.

Don’t worry about the tuners, I’m sure they’ll be fine. Most tuners out there are. If there are any issues with it staying in tune, 95% of the time (random, but fairly accurate and indicative number) it is the nut slots that are at fault, with strings binding.
If you have issues, find a luthier and ask them to touch up the nut slots appropriate to the gauge strings that you will be using. It doesn’t take long and won’t cost much, but it will improve the tuning stability immensely.

i make improvements to all my guitars regardless of pricing. I have not heard of any tuner problems, That being said ,i was basically just wondering who manufactures the tuners for that guitar.. I changed out tuners on a brand new gibson 12 string songwriter ,not because they were troublesome, but more out of convenience of a locking type tuner .There are always ways to improve
upon existing parts. Was just curious is all..

I think nobody here would know who makes the tuners on those Westerly Collection Chinese made guitars. Could be anybody in Far East. I also doubt you would get an answer from Guild about this.

At least they look like quality tuners but the baseplate looks a bit different from Grover or Gotoh tuners.

Hello

I have Schaller cast-frame tuners on most my guitars - two have Grover tuners - my 1965 Carmelo Gonzales nylon-string still has original open tuners.

And yes - I have put Gibson-Schallers on my 1957 LG 2-3/4 - because the original open back thingies were just awful - no lubrication could salvage them by the time I got the guitar.

BUT - I also have Guild OM-240CE that I bought in January 2018 - it has those Guild-branded open tuners - I have been playing that guitar a lot - and since I use many open tunings - I have also used them tuners a lot. So far nothing to complain. If any problems should arise - I expect them not sooner than 10 years - hope I'm still alive then . . .

So - nothing to worry about them.

Thanks .. i have been playing guitars for 47 years. But have just in the last year been really focusing on guild guitars. I have been a Gibson guy forever. But a friend got me interested in guilds , and thats what ive been buying the last 8 months (4). two mic, and two made in USA. im impressed with every one i play and buy. Dont know why ive been so stubborn about gibsons all these years lol.Guilds are very finely constructed guitars ,regardless of country of origin . Its opened my eyes

If I had to guess, the tuners are most likely made by Ping. They're what are usually on low cost Asian rim guitars, and are often branded to the manufacturer.

I have an old Yamaha with Ping tuners and they are actually fairly good.

I have a low threshold for changing generic tuners. I changed the Guild-stamped open-backs on my M-120 to Sta-tites, fit like a glove. Rock solid, knobs look nicer, too.

I love the way that top right tuner button is almost dead centered on the lower bout of the electric hanging on the wall!! (y)
