Yes, I also should have said well-loved. I’m of the belief that guitars someone enjoyed to play this much must be good ones. I’m going to play it for a while as it is before deciding what to do. A refret and another bridge is definitely in the cards at some point. Maybe a Franz pickup (the reissue ones are available at the Guild store for $99). Hmm. This mystery black mini humbucker sounds wonderful though. Decisions, decisions.

Another question for anyone who might know: where can I buy the little screws for the trussrod cover? I need 2 since the ones that were on it were the wrong size.

It sure looks like this pickup might be from a strange mid-1970s SG. Take a look at this post and pic I ran across:

Here's a quick video of me playing this CE-100 using my iPhone, so not great quality. I just put on some new John Pearse 12 pure nickel strings and a wood bridge and I'm really enjoying this old Guild. This is just acoustic at the kitchen table...

This is also my first time trying to link to a Youtube video, so hopefully the link will work.

I was selling this guitar for a while. I’m really glad no one bought it! It’s definitely a keeper for me. I’m planning to have it refretted with medium jumbo frets in the near future. I’m also going to get a better Abr-1 bridge to get rid of the rattles and find a pickguard bracket so I can reinstall the original pickguard. Does anyone else have one of these early CE-100s? I have wanted one ever since I saw Duke Robillard play one 4 or 5 years ago.

You can tell thats a winner by the amount of playing time it has had. Big fan of the Gibson mini hums; but the option of putting in a vintage Franz is a real, plus. Congratulations

Here it is! This is one PLAYED guitar. I already love it despite the destroyed frets and rattly tuneomatic bridge. I have the trussrod cover and pickguard, but I'm missing the pickguard bracket. I ordered one that I hope will work- we'll see. I'm happy! I was able to put a drop of superglue in the piece of loose binding by the nut and it's fine now.

Since GAS never ends, this CE-100 is for sale again. I’ll make a new for sale post and it’s on Reverb.
