I just saw this on the USPS website, and this may well be a viable alternative to UPS (who I really don't like these days after a couple of battles) and FedEx.

I'm curious to see if their rates and transit times will be competitive with the other two.

I'm curious if there are size/weight limitations.

Just as long as it’s not related to the unholy alliance of USPS Surepost! (And whatever the one that uses FedEx is.) That just adds extra days due to the extra handling as they trade off who has it. I to this day don’t understand how it can be cheaper since it uses both UPS and USPS in the process which means double the processing.

I'll never understand that either Chris. One thing that is nice is having options other than Priority and Express Mail when using click and ship. Priority Mail rates aren't even remotely competitive when shipping guitars, unless they're going to AK/HI, or to another country.

I'm leery since it combines Parcel Select. Unless it's doing away with Parcel Select in favor of a faster service, I'm not sure I'm excited. I'll wait for @Default to tell me if I should be excited. :)

I have my doubts. USPS has screwed up more than a few things for me over the years. UPS has never let me down.

Posts like this are very dependent on the poster's driver and local distribution warehouse.

All three major carriers are pretty much the same for me, though lately UPS is the one that's been letting me down. That varies over time, though. USPS has been pretty rock-solid for me using Priority Mail. Priority Mail rocks.

Understood, and no doubt dependent. I think maybe USPS exiles the idiots to my town.

Look for a sticker that has an "H". In my area, FedEx hasn't used USPS in a couple of years, but they still have our tracking numbers printed on the labels. So, no, I'm not the one leaving packages on your lawn.

UPS drop ships pallets of parcels to local post offices, because it's cheaper to have the mules deliver it than send it on a brown truck.

Honestly, they haven't told us anything about it, but I will assume that it is somehow worse than our performance now. I personally am assuming it's marketing BS and we are just synchronizing our synergy to rightsize our human capital, empowering them to excel.

398 days until I get to stand on the sidelines. 😕
