Either way, depends on if I want to add a second string D, a seventh somewhere or a bass run of some kind.

I play it with all four of my fingers. I don't like the simple voicing. I add my ring finger on the b string, 3rd fret.

I usually play it this way, too. But if leaving the B-string open, I use 2-3-4.

Yeah, Steffan's got a picture of an "H" chord around here somewhere, for instance, IIRC.

The "H" I grew up on...

I'm with you, Chaz! Fun to talk about this kinda stuff (bordering on music theory and chord construction), huh? For me, 2, 3, 4 (that's how I learned it from 'imitating' the folks who would let me hang around with them). :D Although, on occasion, I've been known to do the four-finger one like Jahn.

P.S. Next to E (and Cmaj7), G is my favorite chord! 8)

This could go on and on...

I play an A chord with 3-2-4 at the second fret. I know a guy who plays it with his 2 finger, bent backwards over all three strings. I just can't do that without touching the high E string and deadening it.

I do the A like that too, but going up the neck to C & D I lay my third finger over the 3 strings.

Easy answer, any chord; any possible fingering, depending what I'm coming from & going to.
