That IS cool. Did the M-85 ever come with the Hagstrom single coil pickup or is this a mod?

That is gorgeous. I'd have a hard time choosing between it and Kurt's red/black burst.

It that were a Starfire I'd date that bass between mid-1967 and 1970. It is not safe to look at Starfire features and assume that M-85s had the same features at the same time but the comparison does get close. Superficially it looks original and in nice shape and seems to be a hollowbody.

As a rule of thumb the hollow bodied M-85s had Bisonics and the solid bodied ones had Guild humbuckers That is not 100% true since there are some weird configurations circa 1970 and in M-85 II's.
