That's OK Dred, I have a Taylor I use for bad weather gigs. You can get em by the dozen anywhere. The Guilds are staying undercover.

Besides, I get the same feeling looking at that guitar I get when I see a sick animal.

We should take up a collection & buy that poor thing & put it out of our misery. After a proper ceremony of course.

Sorry Jeff, no more "rain in Seattle" jokes, I just felt entitled to it, having lived there for a few years. Actually, my last address there was in Greenbanks up on Whidbey Island.

I'd like to put that hideous mutant Guild out of it's misery too, but I wouldn't want to spend any of my hard-earned shekels to do it.

Maybe we should email the seller and offer to bury it for him for free if he also pays the shipping.

The rain lines are just fine. The rain myth keeps some folks from moving here. Not many, but every little bit helps.

It's a balmy 78 deg, sun's been shining since dawn & it looks like 5 or 6 more days like this coming. Been this way most all Summer, better'n Hawaii.

It was so nice I went outside to start painting, took a brief look at the project & poof, I dissappeared like smoke down the road to buy some strings.

D"Addario mediums, and a set of light 12 strings, plus a new ergonomic tuner crank, couldn't find any Elixir 12 strings

Not much interesting at the string shop, I did discover you can buy a pretty nice Taylor for 3,000, whew !!!. KOA I think it was. It did sound kinda special but I'd rather spend the 3K a nice F 30 & have enough left over to keep lookin for an A25 or A50. Then there's always the 12 string I don't have yet. There's one of those, a 412 series ? Guild for a grand up North a ways. Probably wouldn't depreciate a thousand dollars overnight.

Shouldn't be doing any of it.

Life is good.

Jeff: we encourage the same myth just north of you in Vancouver. Actually, we tell people that it rans here even more than in does in Seattle. Alas, they do just keep coming.

BUT: For those of you who are up for such things, send a few prayers out to your favourite power to prevent rain here next weekend - the Vancouver Music Festival needs sunshine to prosper.

And to prevent performers believing they have to turn up with waterproof guitars, of course.

ps - You might try a 12-string set of Tomastik-Infelds. A little light for some, but they sure sound wonderful.

West knows about the older competitions, when miners saddled up and paddled across the Brazos River on their asses. But Coastie doesn't have a river, so he just paddles asses.

Ah yes Darryl, but I've only recently discovered that they were actually "busking" across the Brazos :) .

its baaaaaaaaack. The Busker didn't sell at $395, is now listed for $295.

Awhile back I was at the local Guitar Center, and a guy who just bought a new guitar did so with the agreement that they would let him destroy his old plywood trade-in by driving into it with his car.

So, everyone went outside and watched, they set up the guitar with a cardboard box holding it up, then he backed up with his car and totalled the guitar at about 30 mph - smashed it to smithereens. Only piece left intact was the back, it was still in one piece. One of the salesmen told me "See what happens when the boss leaves for the day?"

Anyway, this guitar should meet with the same fate, except it would probably just bounce off the front of the car. Can I get some "Steamroller Blues"?

Now ait a minute Dred..........

I intend to buy that guitar! Think about it, take that sucker to the beach and play all day. Never worry about humidity, heat or sand and you can do all of this while busking in the sun!

It would make a very fine nesting box for some of the native birds around here.
I'd partly-fill it with straw, then the little guys would have a 5-star waterproof, cosy apartment.

I think I've got it guys. Let's all pitch in and buy that baby and send it to Hans in appreciation for all of his patience and valuable information. I mean, Hans is THE MAN and if he couldn't appreciate a RARE Guild like that, nobody could.
