I’ve had this one for a couple weeks now, soaking it in… the verdict is: I’m very pleased. The tone I want, deceivingly comfortable body. The neck profile is a bit slimmer than my norm but still inviting and very easy all the way up.

On to it—
Very early 1970, gold pat pend grovers. Frets are hardly touched. Couple repairs on the back and one soon on top (Never really bothered me). Heel cap character. Came with original polishing cloth and the music store T-shirt  Original owner deal, SS number on the back of the head :sneaky:
You may have seen it?
Oh yeah, Brazilian.

This guitar inspired my production number question, curious how many made up to this point.
GAS extinguished for now:rolleyes: Thought I would share, here is the proof:

Brazilian Rosewood at its finest and that is the best tone wood...

Beautiful! It's unusual to see a 1970 Guild, especially a jumbo, that's all Brazilian, but this one appears to be. Guild by that point was running out of BRW sets large enough for backs, and that's why my '70 D50 has BRW sides with an EIR back.

O.K. So this guitar is of Brazilian Rosewood. The back and sides of my 1995 Japanese Yamaha Classical looks quite similar, but the verdict was out on what the wood actually is, at least among the LTG crowd. Here's a pic for comparison.

Very beautiful, 383roller. Make sure that back crack is cleated. The guitar appears to be in great shape. Congrats!

Wow, wow, and more wow! That is a grail guitar for sure. So few of those around. Congratulations and I hope it is everything you dreamed it would be.

Oh, and I'm not sure if I'm seeing cracked wood underneath the neck-heel cap as well, 383... Definitely have it looked at and make sure it's good to go for another 60 years!

Thanks for the kind words, the guitar just amazes me every time I pick it up. It has a Hoboken label.

It will eventually go to my luthier for a good check up. The back cracks are cleated with Indian rosewood, it’s a stark contrast in color.
