Hi,

I found a JF30-12 going for $850. The seller is a few hours from me and Im trying to make sure I ask all the right questions before I truck up there to look at it. It is a westery RI guitar, don't have the serial number yet, thats one question I'll ask. I haven't found any around here to play so any feedback would be great.
thanks!

If it is in good shape, it is well worth that price. I gave 1100.00 for mine nearly two years ago. Absolutely awesome guitar and one of the most underrated 12ers out there. Comparable performance-wise to an F412 without the bling thing... Good luck...

I'll vouch for Zeke, from first-hand(s) experience. Easy to handle and a pleasure to play, with great sound, to boot!

I wish I had one just like it.

Thanks! How is the neck profile on this one? I've got a Guild d25 now, used to have a D40. The D25 is a little more confortable to play than the D40 was.

I had 'Zeke' professionally set up by a luthier friend to 4/32" action at the 12th. Also had a K&K Pure Western Standard pickup installed at the same time. Nearly plays itself.

I have exactly the same experience, D25/D40, but the '40's a Corona. Have a buddy with an '87 JF3012 (1st year), as easy to play as my '25. He keeps stock action height but keeps it down a whole step now as he had the dreaded bridge lift a few years back, even with silk'n'steel lights. So there's something to look for: check the back side of the bridge.
He did have his professionally repaired, it has wonderful tone. "Airy" is the word. Another word would be: "M-m-m-m-maple!": :D

Funny thing about maple. I crave the maple sound on a 12er, in fact, I think it is unparalleled, but have not yet found a personal comfort level with maple 6ers...

You guys are great, I will check the bridge. Glad to hear the comparison between the D25 thats what I was hoping. It has a black finish, kind of wish it was natural but beggars can't be choosers. The guy who has it runs a music studio so Im hoping it was taken care of well. Its got a factory pickup also. None of my others do so Im looking forward to checking it out.

Lots of Canadians fall from balconies in Mexico.

Must be a different building code or something...

Silly boy is right. His bonus may be for Mexico, but I think a JF30-12 is a much better return on investment. I had one as well, now residing in Austria, a fantastic guitar!!! Well worth $850.00.

Welcome to LTG.

good point, he should foot the bill on that one. Really mexico would be a week and a good guitar would be a lifetime. Your seriously making me not feel so guilty about this :D

Shock of the sudden transition from Labatt's to Corona, perhaps? :D

Ahh, you may be on to something there.

To a Canadian 1 Labatt's = 6 Corona.

Therefore the average Canadian ( I mean me from several years ago  ) on vacation drinks about 14 Labatt's per day which equals 84 Corona, so just the added weight to the kidneys will throw us off balance and any balcony we try to traverse.

Solved very quickly, much like any Mexican investigation.

Case closed. Bar is open!!
