What case would fit a 1962 T100D Slim Jim with Bigsby Tremelo arm?

Hi,

I recently inherited my old man's 1962 T100D, it is a thing of beauty, but is very much 'lived in'. It has always has the Bigsby trem arm - which I found out is an addition, although I seem to recall him telling me this at some point.

It came to me in an original Selmer case, but the case has had it - split and disintegrating.

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on the correct hard case size to get?

Thanks
T

The new Guild Starfire cases are a perfect fit, so that's what I would get.
Thanks, I will look at that.

I've not had to buy a case before, so I'm trying to work out what pitfalls I need to look out for. E.g. are cases different sizes for different semi acoustics?

It's a direct fit for a Starfire or T-100. I have personal experience with the case and the guitars.

I confirm Default's experience. The Newark Street Starfire III case is a perfect fit for the T-100, so no worries.

In essence, yes.

I have a Gibson 335 & a newish Guild Starfire III. While the 335 will fit in the Starfire case, the Starfire III will not fit in the 335 case. The lower bout of the Starfire III is slightly bigger and will not fit. It will also not fit in a Mono gig bag bought for the 335.

I would try to take Slim Jim to a guitar shop that sells Guild Starfires and try it out.

Used to have a Slim Jim in the 60s and my new Starfire is, from what I remember, a similar size.

Howdy and welcome.

These are really nice guitars.
Post a picture if you can.

Here’s my 62.

Here's mine. You can't see how bad the case is so check below, but I daren't even carry it by the handle; the bottom has split in the last couple of months. (I have ordered a new case)

The sad looking case:

As and when you get a new case, keep the old one. Don't throw it out. It's definitely worth keeping with the guitar. The case is very similar to the one I remember that came with my guitar.

The modern cases don't have the shaped bit for the headstock.

Here's my Starfire III in the case.

I came across this old brochure image for the Slim Jim. Not certain if you are in UK, but it has the UK price, which is what I paid for mine back then.
