Hi Hans, I stumbled too; he may have intended 'maple' to be 'mahogany' or even 'rosewood'.... maybe. cj

Cheap might have been an exageration, but in proportion that could be one answer to why they choose to do so. I know of other areas that has occured. Anyway, I don't run Guild so I could not answer to why that was done, or why the story isn't told the way it should be.

I'm still not quite clear about what happened to the Valencia. Did they discontinue the model entirely or did it stay spruce over maple?
