Guild or not just interested in the reply - brand and model
I have bought quite a few Acoustics over the last couple years and landed one by chance that I absolutely love. I thought I was an F 30
bar none but then found a really nice Guild OM150. Must be more goodies along this line so I bought yet another Guild OM140 burst - Love it.
Then there was the Martin OM 21, OM 21 Special, Martin D18, Gibson J 45, AJ (advanced Jumbo), Guild D40s...etc, etc
I landed a used D140 burst that really took me by surprise. Super velvety feel and sound. The wider nut of the F30 and OMs and smooth neck action was a game changer. So just for grins I bought a Natural D140 from Sweetwater that just really changed everything for me. The wider nut and the fuller sound of a Dread but a bit crisper than the D140 Burst velvet feel and sound.
So yeah my favorite acoustic is a Guild - but the overseas D140 in natural. I just love to play this guitar and hear its' overtones and sweet sustain especially when in Open tunings, I even played it up against my old O25 Lowden which is no slouch by any means....yes, my D140 natural for me...is the clear winner.
And the D140 cost me less than $800.

Best guitar I have owned is my now departed DV-52, followed by now also departed Harmony H1260 and currently owned F-50R. Best guitar I ever heard was a '34 Gibson J-35.

Oh please.... depends on my mood and the song. Every one I have is my favorite!! You're reducing life and music to a "one or nothing" type of mentality..... go on. Get out of here.

What's your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE GUITAR EVER IN EVERY SITUATION??

Oh you already answered. Happy for you.

My favorite acoustic? I couldn't pick one if I tried, but I've really been loving my Lowden O22 lately.

Incredible instrument.
Sandy, I can imagine that guitar is freaking AMAZING!! Lowden makes some amazing guitars. When he was in Ireland and his employees took over the factory and he left with his name.... they had all the wood and all the skills and all the luthiers.... and in the first year named Avalon, they made this guitar for Don. What an amazing rosewood jumbo!!! Holy Moley!!

I thought I had photos of it, but here's a review. It was the 8th one made after George left the factory. I can't say enough good stuff about this guitar!! So amazing.....

Thanks Tom. It is, and there's something about them that's just different, and so good. I'd love to find a nice (smaller) F body Lowden, but they all go for stupid money now. I got real lucky when I bought this one.

I'm well aware of Avalon guitars, and rarely they come up on AGF for realistic prices. Always looking!

No you're not wrong... they're just so amazing and .... it's just something so incredible about the sound. I just got curious about the L-32 and looked up the model on Avalon's website..... almost $6K?? YIKES!! We sure got a deal at Guitar Center here in Vegas!!! Thanks for sharing the beautiful guitar. That mahogany is dreamy!!

Don’t really have a favorite. Body style wise I prefer OM/OOO/Grand OM but with standard OM body depth . As to each they all have really good tone otherwise I wouldn’t have them 😂 so it comes down to which is in hand at the moment .

If Guild made the all specifics I like I could easily be Guild devoted . 😊

My '72 Guild G-37. I have owned and played a dozen other acoustics over time, and this is the best one, hands down, period.

Incredible that I got mine for $2K, plus a fretless Pilot bass that I was into for $350! The price of O22s now is well over $5K new.

Normally it's either my D18 or D40, depending on the day - D18 if I'm working on my flatpicking. Although, it may soon be a Gitane DG320 (gypsy jazz - bent top) I just got in a trade....if I can ever get my picking technique down on the thing....
