I was talking to my friend that owns an F-100 and he asked me what it was worth?
I told him that I would ask here to see.
He is thinking about selling it and has $5000.00 in mind.
He knows that it is a limited run guitar and the guitar is show room perfect.
It doesn't have the carved heel.

Is he in the ball park?

A JF-100? With no carved heel? 5 grand is too high. He'd be lucky to get 3 grand.

Some pics would be cool!!

Somebody somewhere may be willing to pay $5,000, but I think a more realistic expectation would be $3,500 max, assuming that it's in excellent or better condition. The lack of the carved heel, I don't see as a major drawback.

But I could also support FNG's assessment. Elderly sold a D-100C not so long ago for less than $2,300, if I recall correctly. It wasn't perfect but not too shabby either.

Yeah, the non-carved version has only MoP cloud inlays, among a couple of other changes, IIRC.

I would place the value of a non-carved JF-100 at approx 2.8k for excellent condition and approx 2k for average condition.

Here's mine:

jazzmang, that is one beautiful guitar!

Thanks! I think so too. Its got some substantial nitro crazing and it definitely needs some work (as far as neck reset, brace check, etc...), but its definitely a rare one to see.

At this point, I don't play it much. Once I've had a chance to fix it up though, I'm sure I'll be playing it all the time.

My friends JF-100 looks much like the one pictured.
It has no issues at all.
Showroom new.
It doesn't get any playing time.
He opens the case every week to be sure that the humidity is correct.
He purchased it new with the idea of holding on to it until it's value increased enough
to sell.
Looks like it won't be this year.
He also bought a DV-73 for the same reason but fell in love with it and it is now a keeper for him.

The JF and the D 100's are truly beautiful guitars. Why don't I hear any comments about "BLING"? :p

Hi Guildzilla - and friends:

about a year ago I was coming across an JF-100 modell in mint condition which was sold in Augsburg, Southern Germany in the end for 2800 Euros, appoximately 3750 $; as I said, according to the contact to this chap it was as brand new and hardly ever played; he originally bought it in Korea in the nineties as he claimed. In the end it went to somewhere near Hamburg; since we still had to do some work in the loft and missing the extra bucks for the run.

Yowza, thanks West. That (for a variety of reasons) is indeed a lovely version of the tune, and a great showcase for the Guild sound (Dobro too I might add). Little Wing is one of those iconic pieces that lends itself to interpretation, and the Corrs take on it is a neat juxtaposition of celtic, folk and bluegrass (kinda) influences. And, I'll just say it: they're so hot! (them Guilds I mean...)
Right.
