As many of you have seen I have a new (to me) X-150 AB. I also have a Lollar CC pickup in humbucker shape sitting around. My mind got to wondering if anyone has installed a Charlie Christian type pickup in the neck position of a Guild X-150?

Anyone?

Thanks

Doug

Sorry, for any confusion. That should be a Guild X170 AB

I highly prefer large bobbin single coils to humbuckers .

CC Is a great pickup.

I like dearmonds, P-90s, P-13s, Hilo trons speed bumps , bigsby, C.A,R. etc .

CC into an octal amp would be a fantastic sound!!

I am assuming your X-170 has buckers, do correct me if I am wrong

Me, too. I'd love an X-170 with CC pickups.

I know, I have one of the A150 Savoy's with the reissue DeArmond 1000. Even that is quite nice.
I really like the 1000, too. Another option might be P94s - essentially a P90 in a humbucker housing. Had them in a Valensi Riviera & liked them a lot. Currently have a pair waiting to go into a Chet Atkins Tennessean (Gibson version), if I ever get around to it!

Curtis Novak is making correct remakes of the Franz pickup.

My X170 came with the Guild humbuckers (Either Guild made or SD made). At first I was thinking of changing to Lollar CC, now you mention Franz by Curtis Novak. Still the more I play the original pickups, the more I like them-they have a warm sweet sound.
